Due to the poverty and the political instability of recent years, Nepal has a large number of orphanages. These children have lost either one or both of their parents, or their parents are unable to provide for them.

HORAC (Home for Rescue of the Afflicted Children) (horacnepal@yahoo.com) was founded by a Nepalese couple in 2005. They live in Kathmandu with their own children and some 30 orphans. All children attend a local private school. The home is registered by the nepalese government, but there is no financial support for this inspiring and significant work.

A few expats, who live and work in Nepal, visit the orphanage regularly. They offer support and advice. However, financial support is desperately needed.
